FAQ Headset

Headset & Equipment

Which VR headset will I receive exactly?

You will receive the Meta Quest 3S, Meta's latest standalone VR headset specifically designed for active fitness. This headset features sharp image quality, accurate motion tracking, and requires no cables – perfect for intensive workouts where you can move freely.

What's included in the package?

You receive a complete package: the Meta Quest 3S headset, two Touch Plus controllers with wrist straps, a charging cable and adapter, hygienic facial interface with extra silicone inlay, and a quick start guide. All fitness apps from your chosen subscription are pre-installed and ready to use immediately.

How heavy is the Meta Quest 3S and is it comfortable for extended use?

The Quest 3S weighs approximately 514 grams and is designed for comfortable extended use. Thanks to its balanced weight and adjustable head strap, you can perfectly adapt the headset to your head. Most users experience no discomfort during workouts of 30-60 minutes. The breathable facial interface also helps during longer sessions.

Can I wear the headset with glasses?

Yes, the Quest 3S has sufficient space for most glasses. A glasses spacer is included that creates extra room. Note: smaller, flatter glasses work most comfortably. Alternatively, you can also consider wearing contact lenses during your workout, or purchase prescription lens inserts separately.

What's the difference between the Quest 3S and other VR headsets?

The Quest 3S is specifically designed for active movement: no PC or gaming console needed, no cables getting in the way, and powerful processors for smooth fitness games. Compared to older Quest models, the 3S has better processors, sharper lenses, and improved tracking – ideal for fast, dynamic workouts.

Technical Requirements Do I need WiFi for the headset?

Yes, a stable WiFi connection is needed for installing apps and updates. During exercise itself, most fitness apps work offline, so you don't need to worry about connection interruptions in the middle of your workout. WiFi is required for some online multiplayer features.

How much space do I minimally need to exercise?

You need at least 2×2 meters (4m²) of free space – approximately the size of a small rug. Ideally 2×2.5 meters so you can truly move freely. Ensure the space is free from obstacles such as tables, chairs, or hanging lamps. The headset helps you set up a safe play area.

How long does the battery last during exercise?

The battery lasts approximately 2-2.5 hours with active use, which is more than sufficient even for the longest workouts. Most fitness sessions last 20-45 minutes, so you can easily do multiple workouts in succession. For very intensive users, optional power banks are available that can be attached to the head strap.

How long does it take to charge the headset?

A completely empty headset is fully recharged in approximately 2-2.5 hours with the included charger. If you put the headset on the charger after each workout, it's always ready for your next session.

Can I use the headset outdoors?

No, we advise against this. The Quest 3S tracking cameras can have problems with direct sunlight, and the screen can be damaged by bright sun. Moreover, the headset is not waterproof and therefore not resistant to rain. Use the headset exclusively indoors in a well-lit room.

Installation & Use Is the headset difficult to set up?

No, the headset is ready to use within 5-10 minutes. You're guided step-by-step through the setup: connecting WiFi, setting up your play area (Guardian boundary), and adjusting the head strap. All fitness apps are already pre-installed, so you only need to create your profile and can start exercising immediately.

How do I activate the fitness apps on my headset?

The apps are already activated and ready to use when you receive the headset. You only need to put on the headset, set up your personal profile, and you can start immediately. No complicated activation or app installation is needed.

Do I need to create a Meta/Facebook account myself?

No Meta account is needed for the XRFitLab headset. The headset is configured with an account specifically from XRFitLab.

Can multiple people in my household use the headset?

Yes absolutely! You can create multiple user profiles on one headset. Each family member can have their own profile with personal settings, progress, and scores. The head strap and lenses are easily adjustable between users. Do pay attention to hygiene: clean the facial interface between users.

How do I create a "Guardian" boundary (play area)?

During the first setup, the headset asks you to mark out your play area. You simply draw a boundary on the floor around your free space with the controller. The headset remembers this boundary and warns you when you get too close. You can always adjust this boundary later if you exercise in a different room.

Hygiene & Maintenance How do I keep the headset hygienically clean after exercising?

Wipe the facial interface after each workout with a lightly damp microfiber cloth. For more thorough cleaning, you can use mild, alcohol-free disinfecting wipes. Let the headset ventilate after exercising before storing it. The silicone inlay is removable and you can regularly clean it with lukewarm water and mild soap.

Which cleaning products may I use?

Use only mild, alcohol-free cleaning products or antibacterial wipes without alcohol. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents, bleach, or products with alcohol, as these can damage the material. For the lenses, use only a dry microfiber cloth – never moisture on the lenses!

How often should I clean the facial interface?

Ideally after every intensive workout, especially if you sweat a lot. At least 2-3 times per week if you exercise regularly. If multiple people use the headset, clean between users. The facial interface is the only component that makes direct contact with your skin, so regular cleaning is important for hygiene.

Are extra facial interface layers included?

Only with the MyXR Peak subscription are 3x magnetic faceplates included. You can switch these very easily so you always have a clean interface while cleaning the other. Want more replacement interfaces or a sportier version? You can order those separately through us.

What should I do if the lenses fog up during exercise?

Let the headset acclimatize to room temperature for 5-10 minutes before use. Ensure good ventilation in your exercise space. If you experience a lot of fogging, it helps to wear the headset slightly looser so more air can circulate. Anti-fog sprays are also available, but usually acclimatizing is sufficient.

Technical Problems What should I do if the headset won't start?

First try a "hard reset": hold the power button for 30 seconds until the headset shuts off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on. Check if the battery isn't empty by charging the headset for at least 30 minutes. Doesn't work? Contact us at support@xrfitlab.com – we'll help you within 24 hours.

How do I reset the headset for software problems?

For minor problems: go to Settings > System > Restart. For larger problems, you can do a reset by holding the power button down for a long time. When in doubt, contact us first, there's often a simpler solution.

What if I can't connect to WiFi?

Check if your WiFi works on other devices. Turn the headset off and on again. Try moving closer to your router. The Quest 3S works with 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Is your network set to 5GHz-only? Then also enable 2.4GHz. For persistent problems, we can guide you step-by-step.

How do I update the headset's software?

Updates happen automatically when you're not using the headset and it's connected to WiFi and power. You can also check manually: Settings > System > Software Update. We recommend leaving the headset on the charger overnight occasionally, then updates are installed automatically.

What should I do for tracking problems?

Check if there's sufficient light in the room – not too dark, but also no bright backlighting or sunlight. Clean the cameras on the headset with a dry microfiber cloth. Reset your Guardian boundary. Still not working? A restart can help. Problems persist? Contact us.

Damage & Warranty What happens if the headset gets damaged during my use?

Normal wear and tear and minor cosmetic scratches are no problem. For significant damage from accidents (e.g., dropping, hitting a wall), we charge a maximum of €50 for repair or replacement. For deliberate damage or gross negligence, full replacement costs may be charged. We always assess reasonably and in consultation.

Is normal wear and tear covered?

Yes, normal wear and tear such as light scratches on the housing, discoloration of the facial interface, or reduced battery performance after extended use are fully covered. You pay nothing extra for this. We proactively replace parts when necessary for optimal exercise experience.

What if the controllers break?

Controllers that break through normal use are replaced free of charge. For loss or serious damage from an accident, we charge €35 per controller. The batteries in the controllers are replaceable – we supply these on request free of charge.

How quickly is a defective headset replaced?

For a defect, we send a replacement headset to you within 2 business days, including a return label for the defective headset. This way you miss as few workouts as possible. In urgent situations, we can often act even faster. Your fitness goals are important to us!

Do I need to take out insurance for the headset?

No, that's not necessary. The headset remains the property of XRFitLab and normal risks are covered. The maximum deductible for damage is €50, deliberately kept low. Want to be completely carefree? Then you can add our ZeroWorry coverage for €3.99/month, which also eliminates the deductible.

Upon Return In what condition should I return the headset?

Clean and complete, that's all. We don't expect brand new condition – normal signs of use are logical. Clean the facial interface one last time, ensure all components are included (headset, controllers, wrist straps, charging cable), and pack everything neatly in the original box. Stickers or scratches are no problem.

Do I need to reset the headset before returning it?

No, that's not necessary. We do a complete factory reset and disinfection before a headset goes to the next user. Want to delete your personal data yourself? That's fine of course, but it's not mandatory.

How do I pack the headset for return?

Use the original packaging if you still have it. Don't have it anymore? No worries: use a sturdy box with sufficient filling material (bubble wrap, newspapers) around the headset and controllers. The lenses should not rub loosely against other components. Send the package to our return address.

What if I'm missing a component upon return?

For small components like the glasses spacer or a wrist strap, we charge €5-10 replacement. For the charging cable €15. A controller costs €35. Missing something? Let us know before return, then we can look at the best solution together. We appreciate honesty.

Updates & Improvements Will I automatically get a newer model when one comes out?

We regularly upgrade our headsets to the newest models. As a subscriber, you always get access to very good headsets. For significant upgrades (e.g., Quest 4), you get priority as a long-term customer for an upgrade. This is always announced well in advance.

Are the headsets regularly replaced by XRFitLab?

Yes, we replace headsets after 2 years of use. As a subscriber, you automatically benefit – you always get well-maintained, modern equipment.

How often does the Quest 3S get software updates?

Meta regularly releases updates, on average one or two per month. These contain new features, improvements, and bugfixes. The updates happen automatically in the background. Your fitness apps are also regularly updated with new workouts and features – all automatically, without you having to do anything.
